Why Pierce County?
Pierce County is a special place. We're progressive, but focused on families. We are growing, building on the foundation that came before us to become an even stronger community.
Whether you want to return to Nebraska or are considering a move here for the first time, we invite you to get to know Pierce County. It's special, just like you.
Located in Northeast Nebraska, Pierce County offers a labor force of 4,200- with thousands more within 15 minutes of any direction. 95% percent of the workforce has a high school diploma, 23% have associates or bachelors degrees.
With a solid agriculture base, Pierce County is full of hardworking individuals ready to lend a helping hand. These characteristics are seen in the workplace, schools, churches and on our city streets.
In the spring of 2012, the communities of Plainview, Pierce, Osmond and Hadar came together in a meeting with commissioner Jim Maas in Osmond to discuss future of economic development in Pierce County.
In July of 2012, with the help FROMcounty funding, the Pierce County Economic Development Corporation (PCED) was formed.
With the intent to unite the communities to serve economic growth in the county, representatives were brought together to form a board of directors and begin to assist businesses and entrepreneurs wanting to start out.
With strategic goals of housing development, business development and promotion of the county, PCED continues to serve the needs of the county.
Many of the original board are still working together and continuing to make Pierce County home for all who want to make it theirs.
